Next Generation CT Scanner
This animation visualizes a high-speed CT scanning concept from Morgridge Institute and UW-Madison researchers. Conventional CT creates cross-sectional images from x-ray measurements; this proposed system uses an electronically controlled array of x-ray sources so views can be captured rapidly without relying on a mechanically spinning gantry. The animation presents the scanner as a clear spatial system, showing how fast acquisition could improve imaging of moving anatomy and other samples where timing matters.
